How the maths works
Rate is count divided by minutes observed, which makes observations of different lengths comparable. Celeration is the ratio between the two rates spread over the weeks between them: (rate2 / rate1) ^ (1 / weeks).
A result above ×1 means the behaviour is accelerating; below ×1 it is decelerating and is conventionally written as a divide factor. Two points give you a rough slope only. A real celeration line is fitted through all the points in a phase, which is what the Standard Celeration Chart in Neurture Studio does automatically.
Stop calculating this by hand
Neurture Studio charts celeration, bounce and aim stars from the data you collect in session. We're in beta and onboarding practices 10 at a time.
